INSURANCE PREMISES.
RENOVATION OF WAREHOUSE. T. AND G. SOCIETY'S PLANS, The large warehouse at the corner of Wellesley and Elliott Streets recently purchased from Archibald Clark and Sons. Limited, by the Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society, is to be entirely renovated and remodelled by the new owners. As a result of the work, which is to commence almost immediately, the external appearance of the building will be completely changed. A tower about 150 ft. high will be erected on the corner of the two streets. The shop on this corner is to bo done away with, and in its place will be formed a large entry to a spacious marble-lined hall, measuring 40ft. by 13ft. This will give access to the main insurance chamber, measuring about 70ft. by 40ft.
Numerous improvements will bo made throughout the building, a large proportion of which will be available for tenants. The building is to bo made completely fire-proof.
