NORTH SHORE TRANSPORT.
NO MOVE TO SELL COMPANY. STATEMENT BY MR. ALISON. A denial that Iho North Shore Transport Company desires to dispose of its business was made last evening by tho chairman of directors, tho Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C. "Judging by published statements made by candidates for tho Mayoralty of Takapuna and others, a report has been circulated freely that tho North Shore Transport Company is desirous of disposing of its bus business to tho Takapuna Borough Council," Mr. Alison stated. "There is not tho slightest truth in such a report—nor is there the slightest foundation for such a report. It is inconceivable that such a misleading statement could have been made, for at no time has there been any suggestion or proposal—not even a thought—by the directors of the North Shore Transport Company to disposo of its bus undertaking to eifher the Takapuna Borough Council or lo any person or persons. Such a baseless report could only have been promulgated as an election cry."
