CLUBS HOLD PRACTICES.

The various Rugby football clubs held practices on Saturday afternoon on tho city and suburban grounds. In some cases friendly matches wore played between clubs and tho playoi'B were thus enabled to havo a good work-out prior to the opening of the season on Saturday next. The Ponsonby senior team journeyed to Tuakau to meet a combined Franklin-Puke-koho fifteen. The visitors were much too strong for tho country team, winning hy 45 points to 5. R.
