PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
PRELIMINARY MEET HELD.
OPENING NEXT SATURDAY.
To enable members of the Pakurauga Hunt Club to qualify their horses for the forthcoming season, a meet was held on Saturday afternoon at Greenmount, East Taniaki, one of the most popular meeting-grounds of the club. Owners of horses who wish to race in the hunters' events at the winter race meetings usually exercise their mounts at such preliminary runs each year. The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and party will attend the meet at East Tamaki Hall next Saturday, when the season will be officially opened. It is expected there will be a large crowd present.
