POINT CHEVALIER CLUB.

Tho Point Chevalier Homing Club flew its derby ou Saturday from Hunterville, an airline distance of 220 miles, in ideal flying weather. The birds put up a fast, fly, the winning bird homing to Mr. G. Cairns' loft at 12.41 p.m., registering the good velocity of 1253 yds. per minute. Results:—Mr. G. Cairns' b c p h Bonny Heather, 1253 yds, per minute, 1; Mr. E. The Avalon Club flew the young bird championship from Ohakune, an airline distance of 186 miles. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 'J a.m. in dull weather, and after flying for about three and a-half hours Messrs. Knight and Hansen's white hen White Star homed to its loft in Newton. This velocity must be n record for the distance. Results:—Messrs.
