Lee, the recently-appointed consulting engineer to the Wanganui Harbour Board, said at a meeting of the board to-day that it was essential to concentrate activities 011 the harbour entrance first; and to deal with tho river channel later. The great thing, he said, was to get sufficient depth of water at the entrance If they had A.000,000 they could get what they wanted, but the a<iin in engineering in New Zealand was to get £1 worth of service for 19s.
