NATAL APPOINTMENT.
POST FOR CAPTAIN DEWAR. COMMAND OF IRON DUKE. (Received April 19. 7.25 p.m.) Australian and N.Z. Press Association. LONDON. April 13. The list of naval appointments published to-day contains the following:— Captain K. G. Dewar to the Iron Duke, in command, to date from May 11.
Captain Dewar was concerned in the recent court-martial in connection with the complaints against the commander of the Royal Oak. Rear-Admiral G. St. B. Collard. Both he and Commander Daniel were reprimanded and dismissed from their ship. Captain Dewar was appointed to command the battle-cruiser Tiger last September, an act of grace on the part of the Admiralty which was said at the time to be without precedent.
