VALUATION OF CITY.
NOT ACCORDING TO ACT. DECISION AT WANGANUI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI. Friday. A finding that tho valuation list for the city of Wanganui was not prepared in accordance with the requirements of tho Rating Act was returned by Mr. J. 11. Salmon, S.M., at a sitting of the Assessment Court to-day. As a result of this decision it will be necessary for tho Court to appoint a valuer or valuers to inako a new list.
An objection that tho Court was not properly constituted, owing to insufficient notico having been given, was ruled out, tho magistrate stating that if tho points made by counsel wero sound all Assessment Courts for tho past 30 years had been wrongly constituted.
