REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Huurnki.—The connection between (he riso from the 400 ft. level and the chive from tho Tangye winze in the Union Bench section hag been effected. Six pounds of rich specimen slono were obtained at a point 30ft. seaward of tho junction with the dross reef where the first sold was obtnined in this section. The No. 1 puss was being put in and when cutting out for a bearer this cold was found. • A blonk, 100 ft,. in length is nearly ready for atopinn. and it is expected !o have the passes completed this week, when sloping will be commenced. The unwaterin« of t)ie new portion of the Hauraki shaft below the 400 ft. level is jn progress. The broken timbers have been repaired fm 20ft. and the chains of the bailing tank that were tho muse of the damage are just showing above water. When this is removed jt, is expected that (lio rest of Ihe shaft will bo clear.
