CHILBLAINS.
BE READY. It is not too early to take precautions against those ugly and painful things —chilblains. Physical jerks in the nursery, morning and night, will help to keep the, blood circulating. It is much more fun if done to the music of a gramophone or to a tune on the piano if luuinmie or nannie has time to play. When the first hard little red lump shows on the lingers en- the toes, massage it well with embrocation. Toasting the toes or warming chilled fingers by the fire after being in the cold air is a sure way to become the possessor's of chilblains. Warming food, doses of cod liver oil or any of the emulsions started early enough in the year all prevent chilblains arriving for the party season.
