WHANGAREI MEETING.

PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAYy

SATISFACTORY ACCEPTANCES.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CON RESPONDENT. ) W HANG ARE I, Friday. Satisfactory acceptances have been received for the concluding day of the Wliangarei Racing Club's Autumn Meeting tomorrow, and some interesting racing should result. The weather is fine this evening and tho courso should bo in great order. Thero are eight acceptors for the Junior Stakes, and Roman Pearl, who raced well on tho opening day. is likely to start a firm favourite. Her chief danger may conic from Land Measure and Gold Lily. Tho Onerahi Hack Handicap bears nn opeu aspect. Form poinls to Camp Prince and Sea Cob being difficult, to beat, and thero are several possibilities among tho others, including Palmares and Haviland. Camp Prince and Sea Cob will probably bo tho favourites.

Tho Autumn Handicap has attracted a nico field of nino. Form suggests that Lo Choucas, Wonday and Thursby will bo prominent, and a couplo of newcomers in Branson and Glenstar may bo best of the others. It is likely lo bo a good betting raco, with Le Choucas, Wcndav and Thursbv in strong demand. A modorate field will contest tho Parila Bay Hack Hurdles, and Ned Kelly, Golden Wedding and Odin are likely to carry tho bulk of tho money. Golden Wedding was a trifle unluckv not to win on the opening day. The Flying Handicap ) very open race and should bo one of the best of the day. Tho Begum and Subdivision were both a triflo unlucky on tho first day, and British King, who displayed a lot of speed, ran a fine race after being badly eervpd in an unoven start. Lucy Rose should again go well. Backers may show a prefcronco for The Begum and Subdivision. Thero aro 13 in tho Ruatangata Handicap and it should bo a decent betting raco. Gazerin, Kildcer and Welcome Homo shaped well in similar company on the first day and may share tho publio confidence. Nine figure on the card for the Northern Hack Cup. Brilliant Light was finishing on woll at tho end of Bix furlongs, when he ran eecond on tho first day, and should bo suited by the longer distance, which may also be in favour of Envoy, who appeared to bo carried off his feet in the early part of his race yesterday. Brilliant Light and Envoy will probably sharo favouritism and Gay Cockade may also havo friends. Another field of nino is carded for tho Kia Ora Handicap. Schorr should again race prominently. 83 she won well on tho first day. Ti Trco and Lorient 11. should bo suited by tho class, and Owairaka should beat most of the ethers. Ti Tree, Lorient 11. and Schorr may be the popular fancies.
