[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 NAPIER, Friday. The. weather appears set fair for the conclusion of the Hawke's Bay Meeting tomorrow. Toxeuma now enters into calculations lor the Ormond Gold Cup, and with Silver Paper, Gascony and Reremoana and possibly threo others also in opposition, the race should bo extra good. Silver Paper appears to bo (ho superior of nil in pace, and it seems to bo only a Question of his getting to the end of tho mile solidly Highwayman should improve in (ho Karamu Hurdles. Braeman may be tho next best. Imitation and Blackpool aro two likPly newcomers in the Pnkipalu Handicap. Flying Binge will bo suited by fho distance. Two-year-old form is usually consistent, and first day's form points to Ben Hur and Hunting Boy in tho Juvenile Handicap. Auda and Lordlike were just behind them to-day, and neither was over lucky. _ Tho distance of the Burke Memorial will suit White Fang. Atholspear and Rowley are likely improvers. Aiiot, her big field is duo out in the Akitio Hack Handicap. Two very unlucky runners to-day were Desert Lad and Sylvan Dell. Starboard Light had no chance of showing his form to-day and ho should bo well in the Ohiti Handicap. Spearmis3 and Tanagra may improve a little. Great Charter, in the concluding event, should justify a short price. Royal Duke and Merry Mint will be the next best.
