HOWICK TOWN DISTRICT.
At a mooting of ratepayers of tho TTowick town district last evening Mr. James Heron was appointed assessor for tho district. There were tliroo nominations, tho voting being as follows:—Mr. James Heron, 20 votes; Mr. John Wilson, 19 votes; Mr. Harry Beckett, 11 votes.
