DEATH OF JOCKEY.

HIS FATHER ACQUITTED. NO INTENTION OF KILLING. (Received April 12, 11.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 12. Alfred Ellis, charged with the murder of his son, Edward Ellis, jockey, or; March 13, was to-day acquitted. The Judge in summing up pointed out that no one considered accused had any intention of killing his son. In the course of a domestic quarrel at the home of Ellis the son intervened oil •behalf of his mother. Thereupon the elder man threw a bottle at his son. The weapon struck him on the neck and severed his jugular vein. He died within a few minutes. On realising what had happened the father was very distressed.
