DESTRUCTION BY FIRE.

DWELLING NEAR HUNTLY. CHILDREN GIVE THE ALARM. fBY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT. ] HUNTLY, Friday. A seven-roomed dwelling, owned and occupied by Mr. J. R. Foote, situated on the Ohinewai-Waiterimu Road, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Foote were in the milking shed at the time and had left their four young children in the house, where apparently everything was quite safe. Shortly afterwards the children ran out to the shed and reported the fire. By this time the flames had a good hold and practically nothing was saved. BUILDING AT KOPU. HOTEL STORES BURNED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Friday. Fire at 3 a.m. to-day destroyed an old two-roomed building opposite the Kopu Hotel, four miles from Thames, owned by the J. C. Williams estate. The building was onco used as a post office. It contained stores valued at £3O, owned by Mr. W Woodroffe, licensee of the Kopu Hotel. The stores were not insured, although the building was covered against loss.
