EXPLOSION IN HOUSE.

SUSPICION OF ARSON. PREMISES NOT OCCUPIED. MELBOURNE, March 30. Several buildings wero rocked by an explosion which severely damaged a house at Prahran, which had been untenanted for a week. It is believed that the explosion was caused by a mixture of petrol and gas fumes, following a ffre which is thought to have been deliberately started.

Two men were seen leaving the premises immediately before the explosion occurred. The house was fully insured. The gas meter had been tampered with, to allow a free flow of gas.
