BY ARCHER. Nineteen figuro on tho card for tho Neleson Handicap and the event bears a \ciy open aspect. Maori Boy is almost eure to race well in tho class, while Good Boy and Black Maire should appreciate their drop in weight from the first day. Indolent, r.arrowly beaten after being mado a lot of use of in the Eden Handicap, reads best of tho others, and should again perform well. Maori Boy, Indolent and Black Maire may carry strong support. There aro fifteen in tho Victoria Handicap and the class is slightly stronger than contested the Onslow Stakes. Gemlight. Gay Duke and Awamutu read nicely placed end may find solid backing. The St. Heliers Hurdles has altracled a field of nine. Tho top-weights, Highflown. Clockwork and Komak should all go well and of thoso lower down Odin and Harbour View read beat. Backers may show a preference for Highflown. Clockwork and Komak. A nice field of ten is carded for the Autumn Handicap, and it.should bo a very interesting race. Corinax will bo improved by his run on tho first day and should be prominent in tho running. Royal Doulton and White Fang ran good races in the Easter Handicap and may do better at the longer distance. Hyde Park will bo difficult to beat if ho can stay, and In the Shade may do best of tho remainder, although Desert Glow and Papatu are possibilities. It should bo a good betting raco and several likely to bo in demand are Royal Doulton, White Fang and Corinax. The Autumn Steeplechase has attracted a field of fifteen and promises to bo a particularly interesting contest. 'J here are many with chances, but muy prefer the solid horses and go for Kawini, Star of the East and Pendennis. Tho meeting of Toxeuma, Concentrate and Prodice will invest tho Great Northern St. Leger with considerable interest and they should provide a splendid contest. The Ihreo aro sure to bavo strong followings and perhaps Prodice may start favourite. Soino speedy sprinters figure in tho Huia Handicap an>i it is euro to be run at a merry pace. Vallar, Kingfield and Lady Quex read nicely placed and may share the public confidence There is a strong field of nineteen in tho Islington Handicap and it is sure to attract strong wagering. It is a very open race, but some who may command solid backing aro Llanore. Le Choucas and High Pitch. TUAPEKA RACES. i A WIN FOR UMTALI, [BY TELEGRAPH. —FRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Saturday.
