LONDON. Feb. 5.
A message from Madrid says the Prima Minister of Spain, General Priroo da Rivera, has issued the following state, ment: ■' . V
" Reports to the effect that some of tha Spanish troops revolted and that fighting occurred are not true. Not a shot has been fired either by rebels _of loyal forces.
" All that happened was that tha officers at the Ciudad Real garrison ordered the men to leave the barracks.' At Valencia the men were ordered nob to leave their barracks. In both cases the men obeyed until they realised that the orders were subversive. .
"It is only intended to proceed against the officers. A captain and a general at Valencia will bo chai'ged with having failed to display enough diligence and energy in having Senor Sanchez Guerra. arrested. The army, navy, the civil guard, the safety troops and civil police have remained loyal throughout. / " The conspirators succeeded in rallying only about 1000 men in the entira country. That is the whole trupu Anything else is imagination."
The- Valencia correspondent of the British United Press' Association says Senor Guerra is still under arrest on board the gunboat, Jose Canalejas, where lia occupies the captain's cabin. It is understood that the former Prime Minister will be transferred to the cruiser, Principe Alfonso, and be taken eventually to Mahon, the capital of tho island of Minorca.
