GRATITUDE FOR INTEREST.
RAY OF HOPE LEFT BEHIND.
British Wireless. RUGBY, Feb. 5. The Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Mr. A. W. Lambert, has written to the Prince of Wales on behalf of the people of Northumberland and Durham expressing their gratitude for his tour of the distressed mining areas in those counties. His Royal Highness had witnessed £omo tragic scenes, but bad left behind him a ray of hope and happy memories which would cheer the people for years. The letter concluded: "We salute you, sir, as our Princo indeed, and as a greater Briton."
