DEVIATION AT WESTFI ELD.
Tho Mount Wellington Road Board met on Tuesday evening, the chairman, Mr. G. Kay, presiding. It was decided to approach the Main Highways Board in Auckland on Monday ii ' • to make representations in connection with tlio extension of main highways through tho district.
Mr. J. Wood was appointed to represent tho board on a deputation ,with (ho Papakura Town Board to Ministers in connection with tlio request for tho reimbursement to local bodies of a greater proportion of tho capital cost of construction in concreto of tho Groat South Road.
Communications were received from tho Public Works Department dealing with tho proposed subway in Triangle lfoad in connection with tho railway deviation at Westfield. Tho board considered tho subway would bo dangerous for traffic, and decided to opposo it in favour of the deviation of tho road, as previously suggested.
