DISPUTE BETWEEN DRIVERS

An incident in a long-standing dispute between tho rival bus proprietors using tho Hamilton-Cambridgo ■ road led to the driver in one service, Alfred Brown, being charged in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day with refusing 1 to give way to a service car driven by Galbraith Wratten.
Evidence was given by Wratten and two passengers in his car that on January 7 ho drew up behind tho bus Brown was driving when approaching Cambridge from Hamilton. Ho tried to pass Brown's vehicle, but Brown would not give way and Wratten was forced off tho roadway on to the grass. Ho narrowly missed striking a telegraph post. Wratten admitted thero had been ill-feeling between him and Brown. Tho statement that) he had obstructed Wratten on the date mentioned was denied by Brown, and two passengers in his car. Brown admitted having once "sent Wratten to Whatawhata on a false errand, and that there had been a quarrel between them. Tho magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, said ho had no doubt Brown had wilfully obstructed Wratten, and that his story was not true. Wratten's version was corroborated by rcliablo witnesses. Brown had previously persecuted Wratten. Brown was fined £2 and costs.
