UNITED CHURCH CAMPAIGN.
MEETINGS ON CIVIC SQUARE
The tent campaign conducted by the United Churches at tho civic square continues to meet with considerable success, the meetings each evening being largely attended. Tho mission, which has been in progress for over a week, will terminate on Sunday, February 16. This is (ho fourth year that tho campaign has been hold, but in the past it has been conducted for six weeks during the holiday period. The mission is interdenominational, and is under tho auspices of a number of churches, (he most prominent being the Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist and Congregational Churches. Addresses are given by leaders of the different denominations. Last week tho services were conducted by tho Rev. Joseph W. Kemp, this week Mr. Andrew Johnson is in charge, while during tho concluding week (he Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher will be tho preacher.
Tho campaign is designed to reach those totally disinterested in religion, but at (lie same timo is largely attended by members of the congregations of the different churches. It is thought that tho meeting of these people of differing religious views in one common service cannot fail to result in benefit to all.
