WEDDINGS.

The wedding (ook place recently in the Onebunga Presbyterian Church of Miss Joyce Totter, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Potter, of Onehunga, to Mr. A. Smyth, son of the Rev. Mr. Smyth. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory crepe de chine frock caught at the waist and finished simply with a diamante buckle. She carried a bouquet of white summer flowers. Attending her were Miss D. Totter, wearing old rose crepe de chine, and Miss Barbara Smyth, in apple-green crepe de chine. They wore beige hats trimmed with pink and green to tone, and carried bouquets of pale pink sweet peas, carnations, and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Gillespie as best man. Mr. G. Mather was groomsman. Before her marriage Miss Potterwas the girls works secretary of the Y.W.C.A-, and, as she and her husband left the church lines of girl citizens in uniform formed a guard of honour.

On Januarv 29 the marriage took place at Holy Trinity Church, Waiuku, of Grace Dorotliv Sargood, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Sargood, of Glenbrook, to Mr. John Hart, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hart, of Waikokowai, Huntlv. The Rev. Mr. Morris performed the ceremony. The church had been decorated with flowers and foliage and the wedding music was played by Mrs. Yauchan. The bride, who was given my ay by her father, wore a period frock of white georgette trimmed with silver and made with a frilled skirt, The veil, which was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossoms, fell to form a train, and a white tulle muff shaded with pink was carried. Bust ,of Wnipawa. \ reception was afterwards held in the church hall, Mrs. Sargood, the brides mother, wearing a frock of saxe bine repp and hat to tone. Mrs. Hart, the bridegroom's mother, was in navy crepe rle chine trimmed with beige and a navy hat.

A wedding of interest to many New Zealanders took place at Rancoon, Burma, on December 19. The bridegroom was Mr. Basil Robert Ward. A.R.1.8.A., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Ward, of Kelburn, Wellington, and the bride was Beatrix Douglas, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nigel Connell. of Eltham, Taranaki. The ceremony took place at the Cantonment- Church, the Rev. Deiahav, military chaplain, officiating, Mr. 0. H. Moolham was best man. The bride was given away by Mr. T. O. i oster, F.R.1.8.A., of London, England. Mr. Cherry, chairman of the Port Commission at Rangoon, was host at the reception held afterwards. The guests included Lady- Rutledge, Mr. and Mrs. Cotton, Mr. and Mrs. Algernon Mann, Mr. and Mrs. Foster. Mr. and Mrs. Kiven, the Rev. and Mrs. Delahnv. Mrs. Evan Smith, and Mess'"' Month "■ Tr >. Oglethorpe, Witcher, and Gardner. Th® honeymoon was spent at Kalaw; a hill station in Northern Burma. Mr. Ward was the .larvis scholar in architecture at Rome in 1927, and the bride is the sister of Mr. Amyas Connell, Rome scholar in architecture for that year.
