SALVATION ARMY.

LORD DAVIDSON'S LETTER. GENERAL BOOTH IN LONDON. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received February 4, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 3. The Daily Herald asserts that Lord Davidson, formerly Archbishop of Canterbury, in his letter to General Booth, told him ho was very disappointed that the former had gone to a secular court instead of composing his differences -with the High Council of the Salvation Army in the privacy of the council chamber. It would have been better to have retired as Lord Davidson had done. General Booth, who has been confined to his house at South wold for the past three month?, unexpectedly motored to London to-day and took up his residence at Hadley. His decision to come to London was a secret move due to his desire to be near the scene of action when the High Council resumes its sittings. It is not expected, however, that the General will be well enough to address the council.
