The following weights have been declared by Mr. F. J. McMauemin for events to be run on the first day of the To Aroha Jockey Club's Annual Meeting, which opens on Saturday, February IG:

GOSSIP OF THE TRACKS. BY ARCHER. It has been decided to send Paganelli to New Plymouth to contest the Tarannki Stakes, and lie is hooked to leave Te Rapa to-morrow in charge of his trainer, M. J. Carroll. The brilliant four-year-old will be ridden by L. G. Morris, and will therefore havo the services of a horseman who has previously won on him. Paganelli is reported to bo in great, heart, and it is anticipated that he will make a bold bid for victory. After riding at Ilawera last week. If. Wingins returned home on Sunday. The lightweight hoißcman is booked to do a good deal of travelling in the next couple of weeks, and will ride at New Plymouth, Rotorua (second day), and Dunedin. His mounts at New Plymouth will include Anolo. Green Acre, Airway. Whisogne and Keddar: and at Dunedin,. Pupatu and Silver Coot. According to report Royal Aero was not well handled when he raced at Hawera last week, and an idea» exists that ho is likely to ho seen to more advantage when better ridden. At New Plymouth Royal Acre is to bo ridden by S. Henderson, and with that capable rider in the saddle he. should loso nothing on the score ot' horsemanship. The latest addition to A. Cook's team at To Awaniutil is the four-year-old Leitrim. Early in the season. Leitrim raced with success'in tho hack class, but he has lately failed to race up to expectations. When thoroughly right Leitrim is a good galloper iiiul under Cook's charge he should receive every chunco to mako good.
