SUCCESS OF THE FIXTURE.
FOURTH PRIZES IN RACES
A meeting of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta Committee was held last evening, Mr. E. B. Webster presiding over a good attendance.
Tho chairman congratulated the committee on the success of the regatta, and referred to the good work done by the officials. In the morning there was a lack of wind for the sailing events, but in the afternoon tho breeze freshened, enabling all tho boats to complete the course. Mr. J. 11. Frater paid a tribute to tho services rendered by the chairman. Mr. C. J. C'ollings, speaking as a competitor, said tho motor-boat owners were all pleased with tho manner in which tho regatta had been carried out. • The treasurer reported the receipts for (he regatta totalled £SOO, including £332 from donations, and £BS from entrance fee?. It was decided to give fourth prizes in all races where 10 or more boats started. Tho prizes won at the regatta will be distributed bv Mr. 11. R. Mackenzie, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, in the Navy League rooms on Monday, February 13. A protest, received from the owner of the C class yacht Wairiki, complaining that the Queenie was over 25ft. load water line, was dismissed by tho Sailing Committee.
