ASSAULT IN HOTEL BAR.

PROHIBITION ORDER ISSUED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Monday Archibald John Macintosh appeared beforo Mr. Wvvcrn Wilson, S.M., to-day, on a charge of assaulting Robert Bertram Hynes. Evidenco was given that Hynes entered a hotel in Hamilton on Saturday afternoon. Ho had difficulty in approaching the bar owing to tho crowd. Accused stood in his way and without provocation struck Ilytics a blow on tho nose.

Tho accused said that when he had a few drinks ho lost his memory. Ho was suffering from shell-shock and had only ono eye, which he was afraid might lie hurt if anyone came near him. He had no recollection of tho incident

On tho magistrate's suggestion accused elected to apply for a prohibition order. Ho was convicted and discharged.
