INCIDENT ON WATERFRONT.

MAN SUSTAINS BROKEN ANKLE

In a scuffle on the waterfront on Saturday evening, George Lee sustained a broken ankle and was admitted to tho Auckland Hospital. There was a srcjuel in the Police' Court yesterday, when, on a charge of causing Lee actual bodily harm, Reginald William Wooley, aged 25, motor mechanic, pleaded not. guilty. It was stated by the police that the assault was not a severe one; in fact, it was just a scuffle between the part ies.

Percy Roke, farmer, of Wha.ngaroa, who was with Wooley when the incident occurred, said blows were struck on two occasions in his presence, and each lime Lee started the scuffle. Thcro was not tho slightest provocation as far us he could sec.
