END OF PRINCE'S TOUR.

FEDERATION DONATES £IO,OOO

British Wireless. a IiUGBY, Feb. 1. The Prince of Wales returned to London this evening from his tour of tho distressed areas on tho northern coalfields. It is not known what steps the Prince will tak© toward helping to relieve the situation.

In official circles it is said that it would be premature to express an opinion as to whether His Royal Highness will make any detailed suggestion or any immediate further appeal to the nation similar t.) the one ho broadcast by ■wireless on Christmas Day. Tho general results of the tour are certain to be conveyed to the Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, and to tho Lord Mayor of London, Sir Ivynaston Studd. A donation of £IO,OOO has been received by tho Lord Mayor for tho relief fund from Mr. A J. Cook on behalf of the Miners' Federation. In a covering letter Mr. Cook stated that as the federation had been given representation upon the committees formed for the purpose of administering tho Lord Mayor's fund it had great pleasure in making the donation and would continue to do everything possible to support and increase the fund. The federation trusted that the great work of ameliorating the sufferings of the miners might proceed with all possible speed and thoroughness. The voluntary contributions to the Lord Mayor's fund now exceed £610,000. '1 lie Government has promised to double the amount subscribed by the public.
