INSPECTION BY MINISTERS.

PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION

The visit of inspection to determine whether the construction of the RotoruaTaupo railway shall be proceeded with is expected to be made in about a fortnight. The inspection will be made by the Minister of Lands, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, and the Minister of Native Affairs, Sir Apirana Ngata, and also probably by the Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. B. Taverncr. The inspection will be made after_ the party has visited Tongariro National Park, where present arrangements provide for the foundation stone of the new hostel being laid by the Prima Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, "on February 18. In the meantime, four hundred people arc making a livelihood on the job.'-
