MOUNT ROSKILL ELECTION.
member of ROAD board. LITTLE INTEREST TAKEN. A poll of the ratepayers of Mount Bosk ill held yesterday to till the vacancy on the Road Boara, caused by the resignation of Mr. Thomas Davis, resulted in the election of Mr. Ralph VV • F. Sanft, for whom 153 votes were recorded, against ]2B for tho other candidate, Mr. A. St. Clair Belcher, who is n former member. Very little interest was taken in the poll, and out of a total of 2500 ratepayers only 231 voted.
Details of the voting am as follows, the. figures for Mr. Sauft being mentioned f. r sf Chamber of Commerce, 45, 15; Pah Road, 10, 16; Richardson Road, 15, 2\ Road Ronrd Office, 35, 43; Greenwood's Corner, 12, 36; Dominion Roan, 36, 16. " The voting was shocking," said Mr. J. V. Warren, returning officer. "It njiisf. have been tho hot weather."
