UNEMPLOYED WANT WORK.
DUNEDIN DEPUTATION. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. Friday A deputation representing the unemployed waited on tho Hon. W. B. Tavernor, Minister of Railways, who is also Mayor of the city, this morning to see if there was any chance of obtaining work. While expressing sympathy with tho deputation, the Minister pointed out that relief work in hand under the direction of the City Council had absorbed all the men that the available finance would permit. Speaking in regard to corporation services the Mayor said that all the various departments were fully staffed. He intimated that the question of unemployment would probably be discussed at tho meeting of the Cabinet to be held in Wellington on Thursday. All possible speed was being U3ed by the Public Works Department in preparing for railway developments.
