MOVE TOWARD PEACE.
BRITISH EXPERTS TO HELP. MELBOURNE. Nov. CO. The Peaee-in-lndustry Conference between representatives of the employees and the employers is to be opened on December b. Tho four members of tho British Economic Delegation now in Australia have agreed to attend and render their assistance.
The four members of the Economic Mis sion appointed by tho Government of Aus tralia to confer with the Commonwealth ajul State Governments, tho Development and Migration Commission, and leaders of industry and commerce in Australia, on matters of mutual interest to Great Britain and tho Commonwealth, arrived in Australia recently by the Mooltan. The mission will probably return in February, via New Zealand and Canada. The leader is Sir Arthur Duckham, and hia colleagues are Sir Hugo Hirst, Sir Ernest Clarke and Mr. Dougal Orme Malcolm.
Sir A. Duckham is a prominent engineer and chairman of companies associated willi the coal, iron and steel trades. Sir II Hirst is chairman and managing director •if (Ik; General Electric Company, Ltd Mr. D. Malcolm is a member of the executive committee of directors of the. British South Africa Company. Sir E. Clarke is a director and financial adviser of the London Undergrourd Railways. Mr. Henderson, ouo of the secretaries to the mission, stated before they left England that tho members would learn as much as possible about conditions in Australia, and would discuss methods of developing tho country, particularly by means of settlement. "It is hoped," ho added, "that the mission's conferences with the producers and industrial leaders in Australia will result in a great increase of trado with Britain."
