COOLIE CIVES HIMSELF UP.
[FROM OUR OV.-J! COI!UESI'OJCDEXT. ] APIA,, Nov. 17 Clian Sang, a coolie wanted on a charge of murder, has given himself up to the jx)lice. This coolie escaped iri April last after being arrested in connection with
tiie Mugcle tragedy which occurred in October, 1927, when two young girls wcro
brutally murdered. Chan Sang had made a statement to tlio police involving himself and other coolies, as well as a Sanioan girl. Almost, immediately afterwards ho cut his way out of tlio cell, using some pointed instrument on a rotten board. Despite many attempts tho police failed to locate him. Chu Fook, an alleged accomplice in the murder, was tried recently and was acquitted. The trial of Chan Pang has been fixed for the first week in December.
