ONE TREE HILL BOROUGH.
Sir, —In reply to the letter signed "Epsom," on the above subject, 1 would to point out that the Epsom district never was a bbrough, but it joined the city from r its status as a road board. In reply (o Mr. Mathieson's statement to tjie deputation at last Wednesday night's meeting of the Ono Tree Hill Road Board, wherein he said that it would cost £4OO for town planning if a borough wore formed, I have ascertained lliat One Tree Hill has already been brought under the provisions of the Town Planning Act, so this obligation is essential whether it be a borough or a road board. As an old ratepayer I must confess that I am still considerably in the dark and would suggest that the four members opposing the borough and the three members in favour of it, together with Mr. E. 11. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden, address a meeting at an early date. My reasons for suggesting Mr. Potter is that he represents the oldest borough council in Auckland, consequently his knowledge and information he could import would be useful to the ratepayers of One Tree Hill district. Ratepayer No. 3.
