POISONED BY GAS.
MAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION. [nv TELEGRAriI. —mKSfi ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday. Suffering severely from (ho effects of gas poisoning, Mr, J. Sherwood, a widower, aged 62, of 389, Adelaide Road, was admitted to the public hospital today. When Mr. J. Coutts, accompanied by Mr. G. Maxfield, returned to his home nt the address mentioned he noticed a smell of gas. On entering the rear of the premises, Shenvood, who occupied part of the house, was found lying on the floor near a gas ring. All tho windows and doors wore closed. A doctor was hastily summoned, nnd after treatment the unconscious man was rushed to hospital Ilis condition was stated to-niglif to bo very serious
