DISPLAY OF FLOWERS.
HENDERSON SCHOOL SHOW. The annual rose sliow anrl sale of work of (lie Henderson School was held this week. There was a largo attendance. The opening ceremony was performed liv Mr. R. Hoe. district representative on (lie Education Board. The display of roses given by Messrs. ,T. Bush and H. G. Cutler, was especially good, and those entered for competition by tho school children and their friends were stated bv the judge, Mr. H. G. Cutler, fo ho the finest he had over seen in Henderson. In addition to the roses there was an excellent display of other flowers. Stalls and sideshows were also provided. The handwork entries by tho school children were of a high order. The proceeds of the show are to be used for the further development of tho school and grounds. Tho sum of £lO is definitely allotted to tho dental clinic.
FIXTURE AT CAMBRIDGE. PREVIOUS STANDARDS UPHELD. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CAMBRIDGE. Friday. The annual rose show under the auspices of the Anglican Church was held today, tho display being an excellent one and fully up to previous standards. Tho champion bloom, a Mrs. Charles Lamplough, was exhibited by Mr. E. B. Simpson, who was tho most successful exhibitor at the show. A fine exhibition display was shown by Mr. Frank Penn. Mrs. E. Souter, Miss M. Armstrong and Mr. Frank Penn were prize winners in tho rose section, while in the decorative section Mesdames W. Keeley and H. L. Nixon and Miss Willis were successful.
