THE PIG EXHIBITS.

CLASSES OF HIGH STANDARD. POPULARITY OF YORKSHIRES. FEW BERKSHIRE? ON SHOW. Although the pig classes are for the most part small, a very high standard is shown among tlio exhibits and some really fine animals aro on view. 'J lie Yorkshire classes liavo proved the most popular with exhibitors, and in this section the average standard is very good, the judge having difficulty in separating the placed animals. flood pigs are exhibited in tlio Berkshire classes, and the standard of the champion boar and sow merited the award of a North Island championship, but as there are only two eligible sows and one boar on show the judgo felt he would not bo justified in granting any higher awards than those of local champion. The best class is undoubtedly the Turn worth, where there aro a fair number of exhibits in every class and the animals are mostly of high merit. The Devon section is small, there being only five classes, in one of which there is no entry. Hero again the few pigs which are on show are well up to the high standard expected of a show where North Island championship awards arc made.

The judge in tho pedigree classes was Mr. J. A. Russell, of I'almcrston North, while Mr. J. M. McNicol was the judge in the bacon classes. Following arc the awards in the different bed ions:—
