GAME PRESERVATION.
DESTRUCTION OF ENEMIES. Tho preservation of native birds and other game is a matter in which tho Wellington Acclimatisation Society is keenly interested. At its last meeting it decided to spend £250 yearly for three years on tho destruction of vermin in the forests in its districts. Mr. fs. G. Nathan, who presided, said that it was a recom mendatioii of tho finance committee to spend this sum for that purpose. It would mean that less would be spent in other directions, but it was thought that all birds would so increase if tho vermin were removed that there would be more game. Tho society's revenue would admit of the expenditure. It was agreed that the committeo's recommendation be adopted.
