NEW COMMERCE CHAMBER.
MT. EDEN, DOMINION ROAD. The formation of an Eden Chamber of Commerce, with ;i view to advancing tho business interests of Mount Eden and Dominion Road was decided upon at a representative gailioring of business men this week. Mr. A. M. Bryden presided. It was originally intended that n business men's association would bo formed to advertise tho claims of Mount Eden as a shopping centre but on the suggestion of Mr. 11. Cliffe it wna agreed the two districts should combine in order to advance their viewpoints moro effectively. Tho formation of an Eden Chamber of Commorco was decided upon on the motion of Mr. S Kenny, soconded by Mr. S. Oldham The following officers wore elected Patron, Mr. A. J. Stallworthy, M.P.; prosidont, Mr. 11. Cliffe; vice presidents Mr. E. 11. Potter and Mr. G. O. Blako> . secretary, Mr- E C. Ereer; treasurer. Mr S. Oldham, committee, Messrs VV Leather, S. Kenny, W. 11. Shepherd, J Knight. A. M. Brydon. K. Goodall, C Duffv and ColeLirook. Messrs. Cliffe, Duffy and Knight were elected a subcommittee to draw up a constitution for presentation to tho committee. It was decided to convene a pul>lio meoting next mouth.
