FIRST SALE OF SEASON. GOOD PRICES ANTICIPATED. i Auckland wodl worth, on current values, somewhere near £500,000, will be sold within the space of a few hours on Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Tho offering of tho province at the first local sale of the season, opening in tho Town Hall concert chamber at 7.30 o'clock on Monday evening, will amount, to 21,700 bales. Last season a record total of 23,200 bales was submitted at tho opening sale, and nearly everything was cleared under the excited bidding of a record bench of buyers. Extremely high values were realised, and there is every prospect of these rates being closely approximated this year. As a spcctaclo, a wool sale always commands a large gallery. Wildly excited bidding by buyers of many nationalities affords something quite novel in entertainment. Woolbtiycrs at present operating in New Zealand will arrive at Auckland over the week-end, and will work at high• pressure examining the clip cif tho province in the brief time left tbem beforo selling commences on Monday evening.
