MATCHES AT TAUMARUNUI. [UY TELEGItAPII.—OWN COIUIESI'ONDENT. ] TAUMARUNUI. Thursday. The Taumarunui Rod and Gun Club held a clay bird shoot on the saleyards grounds yesterday afternoon and a very successful meeting resulted. The results were:—Handicap sweepstake, of 5 birds: E. Lightfoot (14yds), N. PrnsHing (13yds) and K. Holland (13yds) tied with the possible and divided tho money. 11. Pawson's Trophy and Handicap Sweepsinke, of 12 birds.—AV. Peek (ltiyds), 12 breaks, 1; W. Hughes (10yds) and E. Lightfoot (15yds) tied fur second place with 11 breaks j>nch. R. Winger's Trophy and Handicap Sweep slake, of 12 birds.—J. Richards (13yds), It Harris (15yds) and AV. Hughes (10yds) tied with 10 breaks and divided tho money. In the shoot-off AV. Hughes won tho trophy Gimcrack, 7-bird Sweepstake.—AV. Hughes (15yds), K. Kelland (12yds), AV. Peek (17yds), Rrotherton (Myds) and D. McElroy (11yds) tied with six breaks each. In the sjioot-ofT AV. Hughes was first, with K. Kelland second.
