QUIET AT MELBOURNE.
GATHERING OF WORKERS. POLICE GUARD WHARVES. (liYcrivcfl November 7, 11.-5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 7. After the Cup Day truce the stevedores collected in considerable numbers on the waterfront this morning, but no men were engaged. The police patrolled the piers and approaches, and the idle men soon returned to their city rendezvous.
