FAT STOCK MARKET.

WEEKLY WESTFIELD SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. GOOD VALUES IN COUNTRY. Late rates fur cattle, sheep and lambs were maintained at (lie Wostficld stock salo vestcrday. Extra choice ox beef again sold at up to 45s per 1091b., and an average yarding of beef met with u keen demand throughout.

The firmness of the market at West field was in accordance with the excellent country sales reported within the past few days. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports

good country sales generally, that conducted during the past week at Fapakura showing a distinct advance in cattle values, which wero the best realised fur some years.

Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Westfield yesterday, and steady bidding maintained late values. Prime wethers commanded up to 36s 6<l, shorn and unshorn offerings up to 44s 6d. Prime lambs of excellent quality sold freely at 25s to 31s.

There was a fairly substantial yarding of calves, which sold at late rates. There was a largo offering of pigs, and values fell appreciably, especially for bactmors.
