THEATRICALS AT PLAY. CLOSE MATCH WITH HERALD. A cricket match was played at Victoria Park vesterday afternoon between teams representing "The Girl Friend" comedy company and the New Zealand Herald. The game resulted in a win for the Herald team by three runs, after an exciting finish. Batting first Herald declared with seven wickets down for 188 (L. Oluiney 58 retired, C. E. Gninejr 55 retired, C. E. J. Calder 4G retired, Edmonds 11 not out). Lc Brun, Sharlnnd and Franklyn each took a wicket for the theatrical company, who were all out for 185 (Lie Brun 04, Short 37, Sharhind 27, Dunne 13, Franklyn 12). For the Herald Rout took four wic.kets for 41. runs, L. Guiney three for 30. Calder two for 03, C. E. Guiney one for 3G.

TE AWA V. KING'S COLLEGE. A drawn came was played at Middlernorc yesterday afternoon between King's College and Mr E. C. Beale's Te Awa team. For Te Awa Miller took three wickets for 3 runs, Ncale one for 1, Coates one for 17, Dunning one for 9, Langridge one for 33. A match played between the Auckland Commercial Travellers and the Auckland Cable Board resulted iu a win for the latter by 18 runs.
