EXHIBITION OF ROSES.
DISPLAY IN NEWMARKET. The annual rose show of tho Auckland Horticultural Society will be held in the Municipal Hall, Newmarket, to-day and to-morrow. Some very fine entries have been received, although the total number is not up to last year's figure. Tho show will bo opened this afternoon by Sir Edwin Mitchclson. The classes for loses provide for both amateurs and professional roso growers, and a very good standard of exhibits should bo seen. In addition, thero are classes lor sweet peas, pansjes, violas and other flowers. The principal award to ho competed for is the Brett Challenge Cup.
