COLCHESTER OYSTERS.
ANNUAL banquet held. GUESTS' VAST CONSUMPTION. Australian and X '/, Pres? Association LONDON". Oct. 05. The famous Colchester oyster feast wliich has been an October feature in England for deeades and an occasion for oratory by prominent personages', was held to day. Tlie strangest guest who has over attended was one who to-day thrust his plate to his neighbour, whispering that ho did not like oysters. The offer was gratefully accepted. There were 9000 oysters eaten, some of the guests having as many as seven dozen. The chief speaker was Sir Oliver Lodge, whoso speech circumnavigated tho universe, but omitted to rofor to oysters.
