AMERICAN ELECTION.
CAMPAIGN BITTERNESS. CORRUPTION CHARGES MADE. Australian and N.Z. Tress Association. (Received October 25, 6.-12 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Oct. 24. A former Governor of Porto Rico, West Indies, Mr. E. Mont Reilv, a well-known Republicaffi, has issued a statement declaring that corruption in the Department of tho Interior and in tho Federal War Veterans' Bureau, brought about a shock which resulted in the late President Harding's death. He says the President never recovered from those •'betrayals."
The statement was made in answer to charges made in the course, of Mr. A!. Smith's campaign relative to (he oil scandals.
