PRODUCE MERCHANTS.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD. TRADE QUESTIONS DISCUSSED. The twelfth annual conference of the New Zealand Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants' Federation was held in Auckland yesterday, the president, Mr. C. F. Rosscr, presiding over an attendance of 34 delegate;! from all parts of the Dominion. The last occasion on which the federation held its conference in Auckland was in 1921.
Delegates were welcomed prior lo the conference by the Mayor, Mr. Geoi'ge Baildon, who stressed the importance of such gatherings in the promotion of cordial business rolations and a commercial understanding on vital questions. Various matters relating to trading operations and efficient marketing nnd distribution occupied the attention of the conference all day. Chief among tho matters considered were freights on exported grass seeds, trade terms between Australia and New Zealand, tho grading of seeds and grain and tho branding of sacks. Delegates were entertained at a dinner at the Commercial Travellers' Club' last evening. To-day will bo spent in sightseeing, places of interest being visited in and around the city including the Ellerslie racecourse and Titirangi.
