SUCCESSFUL PAST YEAR.

THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The annual meeting of tho Auckland Justices of tho Peace Association was held last evening. The report stated the present membership was 646, compared with 607 a year ago. There were 55 new members, whilo 12 members had died. The annual meeting of tho New Zealand Justices of. tho Peace Federation was held in Auckland last March, and resulted in better feeling between Auckland and the Southern associations, and an improvement in the rules and constitution of the federation.

The annual Country Justices Day was held in July. In the same month the president, Mr. A. Rosser, and the president of the federation, Sir. A. J. Stratford, visited Whangarei to participate in the inauguration of a local association. A satisfactory financial position was disclosed in the balance-sheet. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. D. Donaldson; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. J. Stratford, M. J. Bennett, R. T. Michaels; registrar and treasurer, Mr. C. Wheeler; council vacancies, Messrs. P. J. Marks, L. S. Rickerby, F. J. H Ellisdon, W. J. Potter; delegates to federal conference, Messrs. D. Donaldson, A. Rosser, R. T. Michaels.
